-Hospitals in the Peel region are searching for nurses and other medical staff to overcome the labor shortage. Brampton hospital also has some openings for registered nurses (licensed by the Ontario College of nurses).
-The city of Brampton will open its online appointment portal on April 19 to receive nomination papers from the potential candidates for the upcoming municipal election. The nominations will remain open from May 2 to August 19, and the election day is October 24, on Diwali. (Satpal Singh Johal)
-The suspected killer (Richard Jonathan Edwin) of the Indian student, Kartik Vasudev, had (an arsenal of) licensed weapons, police say. He shot and killed 2 individuals (strangers) within 48 hours in Toronto last week.

-ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦਾ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਕਾਰਤਿਕ ਵਾਸੂਦੇਵ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਕਾਤਲ (ਰਿਚਰਡ ਜੋਨਾਥਨ ਐਡਵਿਨ) ਕੋਲ ਲਾਇਸੰਸਸ਼ੁਦਾ ਹਥਿਆਰ ਸਨ। ਉਸਨੇ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਹਫਤੇ ਟੋਰਾਂਟੋ ਵਿੱਚ 48 ਘੰਟਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ 2 ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ (ਅਜਨਬੀਆਂ) ਨੂੰ ਗੋਲੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੇ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ।
