Girl found dead near Darbar Sahib complex was missing from Yamunanagar since August 9, her father lodged missing complaint against his wife
ਯਮੁਨਾਨਗਰ: ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ‘ਚ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰ ਪਲਾਜ਼ਾ ‘ਚੋਂ ਵੀਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੀ 3 ਸਾਲਾ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਬੱਚੀ ਯਮੁਨਾਨਗਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ‘ਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਤੋਂ 9 ਅਗਸਤ ਤੋਂ ਲਾਪਤਾ ਸੀ।
ਲੜਕੀ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਦਿਵਜੋਤ ਕੌਰ (3) ਵਜੋਂ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਥਿਤ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਭਰਾ ਹਰਕੀਰਤ ਸਿੰਘ (8) ਨਾਲ ਘਰੋਂ ਲੈ ਗਈ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਮਾਂ ਮਹਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ (34) ਹੈ।
ਯਮੁਨਾਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਕੁਲਦੀਪ ਨਗਰ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੜਕੀ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੁਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਮਹਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਕੋਲ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਇਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ 9 ਅਗਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਦੱਸੇ ਦੋਵਾਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਰੋਂ ਲੈ ਗਈ ਸੀ।
ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਪ੍ਰਾਈਵੇਟ ਨੌਕਰੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੋ ਬੱਚੇ ਹਨ, 9 ਅਗਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਸਵੇਰੇ 10 ਵਜੇ ਦੇ ਕਰੀਬ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸੇ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਹਰਕੀਰਤ ਸਿੰਘ (8) ਅਤੇ ਦਿਵਜੋਤ ਕੌਰ (3) ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਗਈ। ਮੇਰੇ ਦੋਪਹੀਆ ਵਾਹਨ ‘ਤੇ ਘਰੋਂ ਨਿਕਲੀ। ਉਹ ਘਰ ਵਾਪਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਲੱਭਿਆ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲੀ।
ਇਸ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ’ਤੇ ਯਮੁਨਾਨਗਰ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੇ ਮਹਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਖ਼ਿਲਾਫ਼ 10 ਅਗਸਤ ਨੂੰ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਨਗਰ ਥਾਣੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਦੰਡਾਵਲੀ (ਆਈਪੀਸੀ) ਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ 346 (ਗੁਪਤ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਗੁਪਤ ਰੱਖਣ) ਤਹਿਤ ਕੇਸ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ।
ਇਹ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਵੀਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਵਜੋਤ ਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਬਰਾਮਦ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਆਇਆ, ਜਦੋਂ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਔਰਤ ਦੀ ਭਾਲ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਕੀਤੀ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਗੇ ਸੀਸੀਟੀਵੀ ਕੈਮਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੈਦ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਲੜਕੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਗੋਦ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਗਈ ਸੀ।
ਗਾਂਧੀ ਨਗਰ ਥਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਹਾਊਸ ਅਫਸਰ (ਐਸਐਚਓ) ਸੁਭਾਸ਼ ਚੰਦ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਦੇ ਈ-ਡਵੀਜ਼ਨ ਥਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਐਸਐਚਓ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦੀ ਪੁਸ਼ਟੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਕਿ (ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੰਪਲੈਕਸ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ) ਮਿਲੀ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਲੜਕੀ ਦਿਵਜੋਤ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਡੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਭਾਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਾਤਾ ਸਮੇਤ ਲਾਪਤਾ ਸੀ।ਦਿਵਜੋਤ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੁਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਮਹਿੰਦਰ ਕੌਰ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਦੱਸੇ ਘਰੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਲੈ ਗਈ।ਸਾਡੇ ਜਾਂਚ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਲਈ ਰਵਾਨਾ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਔਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕਰਨਗੇ।
ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਦੇ ਈ-ਡਵੀਜ਼ਨ ਥਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਐਸਐਚਓ ਇੰਸਪੈਕਟਰ ਇੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਯਮੁਨਾਨਗਰ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਤਲਾਹ ਦੇਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਲੜਕੀ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਕੁਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਪੁੱਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਲੜਕੀ (ਦਿਵਜੋਤ) ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਕੀਤੀ।ਯਮੁਨਾਨਗਰ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਟੀਮ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਜਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਹਰਿਆਣਾ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਕਤਲ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ਾਂ ਤਹਿਤ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਦਰਜ ਗੁੰਮਸ਼ੁਦਾ ਕੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੋਧ ਕੇ ਕਰੇਗੀ। ਇਸ ਕੇਸ ਦੀ ਸੁਣਵਾਈ ਯਮੁਨਾਨਗਰ ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾਰੀ ਰਹੇਗੀ।
ਐਸਐਚਓ ਈ-ਡਵੀਜ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਮਾਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਦਿਵਜੋਤ ਦਾ ਪੋਸਟਮਾਰਟਮ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਯਮੁਨਾਨਗਰ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੌਂਪਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਜਾਂਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਕਰਨਗੇ।
ਮਹਿਲਾ (ਮਹਿੰਦਰ) ਨੂੰ ਰਾਜਪੁਰਾ ਤੋਂ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਸਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਕਹਾਣੀ ਘੜੀ ਕਿ ਉਸਦਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਝਗੜਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਫੁੱਟਪਾਥ ‘ਤੇ ਸੌਂ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸਦੀ ਲੜਕੀ ਲਾਪਤਾ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਪੁਰਾ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਇਤ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਵਾਉਣ ਗਈ। ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਨੇ ਹਿਰਾਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਲਿਆ। ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਮਹਿੰਦਰ ਦੇ ਖਿਲਾਫ ਸੀਸੀਟੀਵੀ ਫੁਟੇਜ ਸਬੂਤ ਹਨ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਬੱਚੀ ਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ।
ਲੜਕੀ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਹੋਈ, ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਪੁੱਛਣ ‘ਤੇ ਥਾਣਾ ਈ-ਡਵੀਜ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਐਸ.ਐਚ.ਓ ਇੰਸਪੈਕਟਰ ਇੰਦਰਜੀਤ ਨੇ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੁੱਢਲੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਮਹਿੰਦਰ ਦੋ ਬਿਆਨ ਦੇ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਗਲਾ ਘੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਜਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਜ਼ਹਿਰੀਲੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕਤਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਲੜਕੀ ਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਦੀ ਜਾਂਚ ਤੋਂ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗਾ ਹੈ। ਗਲਾ ਘੁੱਟਣ ਦਾ ਮਾਮਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਪਦਾ, ਗਰਦਨ ‘ਤੇ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਕੋਈ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਹਨ। ਪੋਸਟਮਾਰਟਮ ਰਿਪੋਰਟ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਹੀ ਹੋਰ ਤੱਥ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਹੋਣਗੇ। ਔਰਤ ਸੂਟਕੇਸ ‘ਚ ਪਾ ਕੇ ਬੱਚੀ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਆਈ ਸੀ।
“ਕੁਲਵਿੰਦਰ ਨੇ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲਾਇਆ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਦਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਪਤੀ-ਪਤਨੀ ਵਿਚ ਝਗੜਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਲੜਕੀ ਦਾ ਮਹਿੰਦਰ ਨੇ ਕਤਲ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਦਰਬਾਰ ਨੇੜੇ ਸੁੱਟ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਸੀ। ਸਾਹਿਬ”, ਐਸਐਚਓ ਈ-ਡਵੀਜ਼ਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ।
Yamunanagar: The 3-year-old girl whose dead body was found from plaza outside Sri Darbar Sahib complex in Amritsar on Thursday, was missing since August 9 from her home in Yamunanagar district.
The girl has been identified as Divjot Kaur (3), who was allegedly taken from home along with her elder brother Harkirat Singh (8), by their accused mother identified as Mahinder Kaur (34).
The girl’s father Kulwinder Singh of Kuldeep Nagar in Yamunanagar had lodged a police complaint against his wife Mahinder Kaur, alleging that she had taken both the kids out of home without informing on August 9.
In his complaint to police, Kulwinder Singh said, “I do a private job and I have two kids. At about 10 am on August 9, without informing me, my wife took both my kids Harkirat Singh (8) and Divjot Kaur (3) out of home on my two-wheeler. She did not return home and I searched for them everywhere but could not find them.”
On this complaint, the Yamunanagar police registered a case against Mahinder Kaur under Section 346 (wrongful confinement in secret) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Gandhi Nagar police station on August 10.
The matter came to light after the recovery of the dead body of Divjot on Thursday, when Amritsar police launched a search for a suspect woman who was caught in CCTV cameras installed at Darbar Sahib complex, with the deceased girl in her lap.
Gandhi Nagar police station house officer (SHO) Subash Chand said, “It has been confirmed by the SHO of E-Division police station of Amritsar district that the deceased girl found (near Darbar Sahib complex) is Divjot, who was being searched by our teams as she was missing along with her brother and mother. Divjot’s father Kulwinder Singh had lodged a complaint against his wife Mahinder Kaur alleging that she took the kids out of home without informing. Our investigating officer (IOs) have left for Amritsar and they will be arresting the woman.”
On the other side, SHO E-Division police station in Amritsar, inspector Inderjeet Singh said, “After our intimation to Yamunanagar police, the girl’s father Kulwinder Singh reached Amritsar and identified his daughter (Divjot) from her dead body. The Yamunanagar police team is on its way to Amritsar and the investigation of this case will be done by Haryana police after amending already registered missing case under murder charges. The trial of this case will continue in Yamunanagar district.”
SHO E-Division said that they will hand over the proceedings of this case after the post-mortem of deceased Divjot in Amritsar to Yamunanagar police and cooperate with them in investigation.
“The woman (Mahinder) was rounded up from Rajpura, where she concocted a story that she had a fight with her husband and she was sleeping on the footpath when her girl went missing and went on to lodge a complaint at a police station in Rajpura. After which she was detained by Punjab police. We have CCTV footage evidence against Mahinder, of her dropping the child near Darbar Sahib”, said SHO E-Division.
To a query about how the girl died, SHO E-Division inspector Inderjeet said, “During preliminary investigation, Mahinder is giving two statements that she murdered her by strangulating or by giving poisonous substance. But as per the inspection of the girl’s body, it does not appear to be a case of strangulation; there are no such marks on her neck. Further facts will be clear from the post-mortem report. The woman brought the girl to Amritsar packed in a suitcase.”
“Kulwinder alleged that his wife had an extra marital affair and the couple had disputes due to this issue. Mahinder left home with both the kids on a two-wheeler. The deceased girl was murdered by Mahinder and she dumped her dead body near Sri Darbar Sahib”, said SHO E-Division.
